About me

I'm Joan Salvador Gatell, founder of Ganesha Trade Advisors. My whole career has been about documents, rules and deadlines, and I know what an error in a letter of credit costs.

My experience

For 15 years I worked in the Trade Finance department of Deutsche Bank in Spain, handling import and export documentary credits, documentary collections and confirming. There I helped set up and train a team specialised in the examination of import documentary credits.

Every day I saw the same thing: documents rejected over a detail that could have been fixed before shipment. A date, an insurance percentage, a name that didn't match. And behind it, a company that got paid late or had to negotiate a discount.

That's why I founded Ganesha: to give companies the same check the bank does, but before the documents are presented, while there is still time to correct them.
